'Temple Run' Goes From Mobile Game To Major Film

Everyone's favorite maze-chase time-killer app, "Temple Run," is moving from mobile devices to the big screen.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. is currently in talks to adopt the Imangi Studios video game on film, and has secured producer David Heyman to shepherd things forward. (Heyman served as producer on all eight "Harry Potter" films and this year's "Gravity.")

As far as details go, the film, like the game, will center on an explorer who has stolen an idol from a temple, and is consequentially chased by demonic entities.

For his part, Heyman is busy: He's producing "Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them," J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter spinoff that Warner Bros. is also producing.

“It's incredibly exciting," he told about that project. "[Rowling] doesn’t have to go back to this world, but something pulled her back. This is not Harry Potter. This is not Harry, Ron, and Hermione. This is a separate story within a universe related to the Potter universe."
