J. Cole released the track "She Knows" featuring Amber Coffman as the fourth single off of his summer sophomore album "Born Sinner" on Thursday.
"She Knows" is a self-produced, drum-driven number, sampling the scattered piano strikes, marching claps and wispy vocals of Cults' "Bad Things." Cole spends the track's five minutes wrestling between staying true to his significant other and satisfying his carnal yearnings, and accepting the ramifications of carrying through the actions he knows to be wrong.
J. Cole's "Born Sinner" was largely met with critical praise, his lyrical and storytelling proficiency the most common accolade. After sitting at the No. 2 spot on the Billboard 200 for two weeks after its release, the album finally climbed past Wale's "The Gifted" to reach No. 1, and has since gone gold.
