Student Says Teacher Knocked Him Out For Joke About Football Team

Teacher Knocked Out Seventh-Grader For THIS?!

A 12-year-old student was allegedly knocked out by an educator after joking about the teacher's football team at a Texas middle school, according to multiple reports.

Seventh-grade student Reginald Wells, who attends Smith Middle School, told local ABC affiliate KBMT-TV he made a joke about one of his teachers' favorite football teams in a hallway last Friday when the teacher punched him in the shoulder.

He then pushed the teacher, he said, and the teacher came back swinging, hitting him twice and then punching him in the mouth.

"He hit me, and I blacked out," said Reginald, who is 4 feet 11 inches tall and weighs only 80 pounds.

The unidentified teacher was promptly fired, according to multiple reports, but before he left the school he reportedly told Reginald that he was "having a bad day."

The school district did not immediately return a request for comment from The Huffington Post.
