Terrence Howard Reveals Real Reason Don Cheadle Replaced Him In 'Iron Man' Series

When Terrence Howard dropped by the "Watch What Happens Live," he was surprisingly candid in response to viewers' questions. A bunch of viewers wanted to know the real reason Don Cheadle replaced him in the "Iron Man" films. So Howard told them.

“This is gonna get me in a lot of trouble, but who gives a f*ck," Howard said. "It turns out that the person that I helped become 'Iron Man,' when it was time to re-up for the second one, took the money that was supposed to go to me and pushed me out.” He was, of course, referring to Robert Downey, Jr. According to Howard, Downey Jr. didn't return his calls for three months. When asked how things were now between the two, Howard said, "Oh, I love him. God’s gonna bless him.”

According to Howard, he had a three picture deal, but the studio broke his contract when Downey Jr. wanted more money. In the past, Howard was a little kinder with his words. He told E! he was happy for Downey Jr.'s success and that he was born to play the part back in 2010. Now he says "Iron Man" killed his career. He told Hollywood.com, "I had to start all over: went from making $6 million a movie, back to $60 thousand a movie ... I'll make $20 million soon. Because I have learned the lessons of yesterday."

Terrence Howard's latest project, "The Best Man Holiday," is in theaters now -- no word on how much he made for it. "Watch What Happens: Live" airs Sunday through Thursday at 11 p.m. EST on Bravo.
