Coyote Joins Cross-Country Race In Arizona

A coyote entered, but did not win, a boy’s cross-country state championship in Arizona on Saturday, Nov. 9.

As reported by the Arizona Republic, runners in a boys state championship race on a Phoenix golf course were joined between the first and second mile markers by a coyote,seen in photos closing in on the competitors. According to Runner’s World, the coyote ran alongside some of the runners for a distance before dashing off the course.

The interesting turn in the race was caught on camera by a relative of one of the runners.
