London is for lovers... of interior design and neutral color palettes, apparently, as photographer Cara Connell reveals in her charming 800-square-foot Holland Park flat. Connell, founder of Lumitrix, an online site that sells affordable photographic prints, is not only a photographer, but a professional home tourist of sorts, traveling the globe to help her customers envision how they can work photography into their own homes.
"We have a 'Lumitrix Living' section that showcases the photography we sell in exciting interiors," Connell says. "That means I have now been lucky to examine in great detail homes all over the world." And her cozy apartment is that much more lovely for it.

How long you've live there and with whom: 4 years. Alone.
Own or rent? Own
Home style: Apartment within a town house.
How would you describe your decorating style? Calm, Clean with bolts of bright strong colour. A mix of ultra modern and vintage finds.
Where can we see your approach to design the most? In the bathroom, which is coated in glossy chocolate brown polished plaster, with splashes of neon pink on antlers and trinkets.
Have you done any major renovations? I was lucky in that a Japanese architect focused on the optimal passage of light and use of space prior to [me] buying the flat. I then opened up the kitchen into the sitting room so that it was one large space to live, sit, cook, eat and relax in. I also made all the doors and doorways larger. This small shift alters perception dramatically so as to feel you are in a bigger space.
Where do you go for inspiration/how-tos for your home projects? In London, I love scouting around places like Retrouvius reclamation and design on the Harrow Road. They find one-off rarities that are so special you can build a whole room around it. The Golborne Road in Notting Hill also has great shops that warrant a lot of time looking around in. I have also brought alot of furniture over from South Africa as they have such a fresh aesthetic.
