Arcade Fire's 'Afterlife' Video Is Better Than Most Movies

At the YouTube Awards in early November, Spike Jonze directed a dancing Greta Gerwing in the live video for Arcade Fire's "Afterlife." Neither Jonze nor Gerwig participated in the official visuals for the band's latest single, but maybe that's a good thing? Written and directed by Canadian filmmaker Emily Kai Bock, Arcade Fire's "Afterlife" video is better than a lot of this year's feature films. The clip, running just under eight minutes, focuses on three generations of men, whose nightly dreams help them process the death of their family's matriarch. Watch the video, produced by The Creators Project (a partnership between Intel and VICE), below; more on Bock can be found at her website.
