A new toxicology report done at the request of late actress Brittany Murphy's father has called into question the cause of her death.
Murphy's death in 2009 was attributed to multiple drug intoxication, pneumonia and "iron deficiency anemia," however, new tests of hair, blood and tissue samples supposedly found 10 heavy metals in abnormally high quantities suggesting the actress may have been poisoned.
It's a claim the Los Angeles County coroner has already dismissed, stating they stand by their original report and have no plans to reopen the investigation into her death. Chief Coroner Investigator and Chief of Operations Craig Harvey told The Huffington Post they hadn't been presented with the the lab test results, and were unable to comment. Meanwhile, a toxicology expert looked at the results and called the findings "ridiculous" in an interview with CNN, saying multiple dye treatments alone would change the chemistry of Murphy's hair.
