A tornado razed Plaza Towers Elementary School in Moore, Ok., last May, tragically leaving 7 third-graders dead in its wake, including 9-year old Nicolas McCabe.
But his family believes that they haven't seen the last of him, as a cell phone image of his cousin Madison from last July 4th shows a figure that the McCabes believe is Nicolas.
Though some have dismissed the figure behind Madison as a result of distortion or motion, Nicolas' father Scott says that he can make out two distinct people in the photo.
"It's obviously not Madison," McCabe told News 9. "It's obvious there are two people there or one person there and one spirit there."
The photo has given the shell-shocked family some comfort, as they continue to mourn their son. "Nicolas loved the Fourth of July and he loved firecrackers," said McCabe.
Scott McCabe believes he can make out the red Plaza Towers t-shirt that they buried Nicolas in. Though many dismiss the image, McCabe doesn't care. "They can say what they want," he told News 9.
"I believe. I believe he's watching over us."
The crosses erected in memorial to the seven students who died at Plaza Towers Elementary school during the May 20, 2013 tornado are pictured at the site in Moore, Okla., Friday, Aug. 16, 2013.
