'Castle': Rick And Kate Are Parents!

On “Castle,” Rick and Kate became parents! Okay, it was just a temporary thing as the couple became foster parents to a baby involved in a case, but it was a good trial run. When it came time for the baby to go, Kate admitted that she was going to miss him.

“Well, who knows? Maybe in a few Thanksgivings from now, we’ll have a couple Bennys of our own running around," Rick replied.

“Hey, if you guys have kids in a few years, and I have kids in a few years, they can grow up together!" Alexis chimed in.

“And, it’s ruined," Rick said.

Ruined or not, TV Line's Matt Mitovich loved the parenting scenes, writing, "Rick volunteers to mind the baby, thrusting him and Kate into a tag-team diaper-changing sequence that left a huge smile on this viewer/dad’s face — especially as Beckett warmed up to the bambino and talked some playful smack about his ‘Uncle Rick.’” Over at Buddy TV, though, Candice Block Lombardi wasn't so impressed with the storyline. "Why must we assume that Beckett and Castle are on the fast-track to parenthood?" she wondered. "There's no ‘if’ we have children. No ‘I have a grown college-age daughter already named Alexis,’ no ‘let's focus on 'us' first’ and no ‘I have my career to think about.’”

"Castle" airs Mondays at 10 p.m. EST on ABC.
