President Obama had yet more dour words about the media during an interview with Chris Matthews on Thursday night, saying that the media is somewhat responsible for dividing the United States.

Obama told the "Hardball" host that his confidence as president comes from the country's young people who he believes are "problem-solvers" and "optimistic," yet one thing still manages to hinder the growth of America: the media.

"Yes, sometimes we [American people] get very divided," the president said. "Partly because our politics and our media specifically tries to divide them and splinter them.”
