If we didn't know better, we'd think Kim Basinger wasn't a day over 40! The stunning actress turns 60 today and looks just as gorgeous today as she did when she shot to fame in the late 1990s.
Basinger started her career modeling and was the face (and hair) of Breck shampoo in the late 1970s. It didn't take long for Hollywood to take notice and soon she landed the coveted role as a Bond girl opposite Sean Connery in "Never Say Never." Basinger's career continued to blossom and in 1997 she won an Oscar for her turn as a femme fatale in "L.A. Confidential."
Basinger is known as much for her looks as for her tumultuous marriage and consequent divorce from actor Alec Baldwin. Despite their differences, Baldwin has called her "one of the most beautiful women that has ever lived." They have one daughter, Ireland who -- at 18 -- is the spitting image of her mother.
"She looks like she's my age. Her body, I swear, it's scary," Ireland told Elle Magazine earlier this year.
Maybe it's her attitude that keeps her young. "I do really wish we had more of the European feeling of age in this country because it has put so much pressure not just on the women, but on the men and the children, too... I hope to adopt that same attitude as I get older and bring it in to my home," Basinger told Teen Hollywood.
More power to ya, Kim!
Here are 10 other incredibly talented (and age-defying) celebrities who turned 60 this year.
January 10: Pat Benatar
“I've enjoyed every age I've been, and each has had its own individual merit. Every laugh line, every scar, is a badge I wear to show I've been present, the inner rings of my personal tree trunk that I display proudly for all to see. Nowadays, I don't want a "perfect" face and body; I want to wear the life I've lived," the songstress wrote in her memoir, "Between a Heart and a Rock Place: A Memoir."
February 8: Mary Steenburgen
"I decided if you're lucky enough to be alive, you should use each birthday to celebrate what your life is about," the actress told Allure Magazine about turning 60.
February 26: Michael Bolton
"People have been very generous in their perception of me and they've had me in like different age groups for sexiest man...I don't know if they do it all the way up to 100," the singer joked to People Magazine.
March 23: Chaka Khan
"In my thirties, I felt I had hold of one of the reins some of the time," Khan said. By the looks of it, Khan is feeling empowered as ever at 60.
May 16: Pierce Brosnan
"Some days it rattles and shakes in there psychically, but ultimately I feel nothing but a great gift of life. There's nothing to prove. I feel comfortable in my own skin," the former 007 said about turning 60 on "The Today Show."
June 13: Tim Allen
"Age didn't really hit me until I'd see pictures of me when I'd do Last Man Standing. I've never been that concerned. I've never been a pretty boy. I do the best I can to clean up well, but when I see myself on TV I'd go, 'Good Lord, if I stoop or bend in the wrong way, my solar plexus looks bigger than it is, then TV puts about 20 pounds on you, and if I bend over the right way, I've got a head of hair, but if you get the right light, I say, 'Gee, Am I losing my hair?'...There's no sense complaining about it, we're all waiting in line for a ride we don't want to get on," the comedian told The Huffington Post.
June 22: Cyndi Lauper
"When I was 15, people who were 30 seemed old. When I was 30, I sang “Girls Just Want to Have Fun.” I don’t care if I grow old, just as long as I can play," the singer told More Magazine about turning 60.
August 16: Kathie Lee Gifford
“You know the best part about getting older...? That you finally realize what's really, really important. And you have finally chiseled down your life to the very few people whose opinions actually matter...It doesn't mean that we don't miss our thighs. We do. And we miss our perky breasts and we miss so many things. But it's not what we've lost, sweetheart, it's what we've got ahead of us," the talk show maven said on "The Today Show" just weeks prior to her 60th birthday.
October 26: Lauren Tewes
Tewes of "The Love Boat" fame says getting a late start in her career gave her longevity. How did she celebrate her 60th birthday? On a cruise ship of course.
December 30: Meredith Vieira
"In my heart I want to be who I am at whatever age I am. But it’s hard when you have a camera in your face every day...But I made a commitment that I’m not going to do anything to my face. I know that I’d be the one that they’d really screw up," the talk show host said about growing older in the showbiz industry to More Magazine.
