Here's What Earth Might Look Like To An Alien Spacecraft (VIDEO)

Ever wonder how Earth might look to an approaching alien spacecraft? Our planet and moon might look a little something like what you see in the YouTube video above.

NASA's Juno spacecraft captured the incredible images on Oct. 9, and they show just how small and vulnerable we appear from a distance of about 600,000 miles. That's roughly three times the distance from the Earth to the moon.

The Jupiter-bound spacecraft captured the view while zooming through space at 8,800 mph. It will rendezvous with Jupiter on July 4, 2016.

In the video's description, NASA notes: "Juno was traveling about twice as fast as a typical satellite, and the spacecraft itself was spinning at 2 rpm. To assemble a movie that wouldn't make viewers dizzy, the star tracker had to capture a frame each time the camera was facing Earth at exactly the right instant. The frames were sent to Earth, where they were processed into video format."
