When asked about recovering from bankruptcy, fashion designer Betsey Johnson said that the hardest part was when her business partner of 30 years decided to retire. "I could've walked, but I realized I love what I do and I love all the people I work with. I had the choice to continue or not, and I realized that of course I want to continue!" reflected Betsey.
She was so moved by the outpouring of support and love from her fans that she decided to keep going with her career. "For the first time… I felt like everyone made an effort to show me that they connected to my work."
Finally, when Steve Madden agreed to buy Betsey’s line, she was ready to start an exciting new chapter in her career.
