CNN gave departing anchor Zoraida Sambolin a sweet sendoff on Friday.
"I thought about this long and hard... you all know this was a very difficult decision for me," she said with tears in her eyes. "I did it primarily for my kids. They're going to be very happy in Chicago and this has taught me a lot."
Sambolin, the co-host of "Early Start," is leaving the network to move back to her hometown Chicago — a decision she made after struggling with breast cancer this year. On Friday, she thanked her co-host John Berman, CNN chief Jeff Zucker and viewers.
"Early Start" paid tribute to Sambolin with a montage of her memorable moments on the show, and Chris Cuomo, Kate Bolduan and Michaela Pereira were also there to say goodbye.
