The Biggest, Fattest, Hairiest World Records Of 2013

By definition, world records are pretty weird. Someone or something does something that has never been done before.

But some world records are weirder than others, such as the one set by the guy who squirted milk out of his eye.

This past year, HuffPost Weird News went to great lengths, not just to cover the weird records, but to tell the stories of the people who set them.

These are some of our favorites.

Let's just note, not all these are Guinness World Records, but they're all extraordinary.

  • World's Biggest Hips
    Mikel Ruffinelli, 39, a 420-pound woman with an eight-foot circumference, set the new world record for World's Largest Hips, according to the World Record Academy. The mother of four, from Los Angeles, stands at just 5-foot-4, has a proportionally small 40-inch waist, and is completely content with her shape,
  • World's Hairiest Cat
    Guinness World Records
    Colonel Meow is revered among Internet cat obsessives for his perpetually smug scowl. Now Guinness World Records has officially recognized the 2-year-old Himalayan-Persian crossbreed as the cat with the longest fur. Experts said Colonel Meow's average hair length was a whopping 9 inches.
  • World's Smallest Woman Goes To College

    At just under 25 inches tall, Jyoti Amge of Nagpur, India, is the world's shortest woman. She's a college-bound student, with dreams of making it as an actress. Still, she weighs just 12 pounds -- only 9 pounds more than she did at birth.
  • World's Tallest Man Gets Married

    At 8-foot-3, 30-year-old Sultan Kosen has the high honor of being the world's tallest man. In October, his 5-foot-9 girlfriend, Merve Dibo, offered him her (much smaller) hand in marriage, at a wedding ceremony held in Mardin, Turkey.
  • Longest Interval Between Birth of Twins

    Amy Jones-Elliot was born four months premature and put into an incubator while her sister, Katie, was left to gestate inside her mother, Maria. Katie was born 87 days later and the two twins are doing well despite the unusual birth.
  • Fastest Tightrope-walking Dog
    Guinness World Records
    Ozzy, a Border Collie/Kelpie cross from Norfolk in the United Kingdom got into the record books this year in the category, "Fastest Crossing of a Tightrope by a Dog."
  • Largest Wedding Party
    Sri Lankan couple Nisansala and Nalin tied the knot in November with a world-record-breaking ceremony, featuring 126 bridesmaids, 25 groomsmen and 23 flower girls.
  • Fastest Goat Skateboarding
    Guinness World Records
    Happie, a Nigerian dwarf cross goat in Fort Myers, Fla., became one of the newest Guinness inductees when he rode a skateboard 118 feet in 25 seconds.
  • Most People Simultaneously Twerking

    In September, 358 New Yorkers helped set the Guinness World Record for most people simultaneously twerking with the help of Big Freedia -- a hip hop artist known for her booty poppin' videos.
  • Squirting Milk From The Eye

    In November, Brandon Youngblood Kee set a world record for "Fastest Time To Ignite Five Targets By Squirting Milk From The Eye", beating the old record of one minute, 44 seconds.
