'Awkward' Season Finale: Jenna Finally Decides

'Awkward' Season Finale: Jenna Finally Decides

Jenna has been losing herself in the guys she's been dating for three years now on "Awkward." In this season finale, though, she finally came to an important realization. While she'd originally decided she couldn't go to the dance because Matty hadn't asked her, Jenna decided that she was okay with going alone.

"I can finally be that girl who doesn’t need a boy to be happy, because I’ll know how to dance all on my own," she wrote in a school paper exploring her own future. This finale came back full circle -- even including the infamous letter that kicked of the series. Finally, this was Jenna realizing her own potential. In a way, it created a perfect sense of closure for the series. Perhaps that's because the show's creator, Lauren Iungerich, walked away from the show after this third season.

Jenna's story, however, will continue as MTV has already renewed "Awkward" for a fourth season. Zap2It's Sydney Bucksbaum looks forward to seeing "a confident and happily single Jenna in ‘Awkward Season 4." We don't imagine it will be long before a boy catches her eye again, though. It is high school, after all.
