An Oklahoma teen has been arrested on suspicion of murdering a Weatherford girl who has not been seen since 2012.

The arrest follows the discovery of partial human skeletal remains found early Tuesday morning in a rural Custer County field. The location of the discovery is about two miles north of Weatherford, police said.

Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt said in a press release that investigators believe the remains are those of JaRay Wilson, a 16-year-old Weatherford girl who disappeared in October 2012.

Although a positive identification and cause of death has yet to be determined, investigators have arrested 19-year-old Tucker Ryan McGee, also of Weatherford, on a first-degree murder complaint.

Officials said a tip received during the 14-month probe into Wilson's disappearance led investigators to the skeletal remains and to the conclusion that McGee is responsible for Wilson's disappearance.

McGee is being held at the Custer County Jail. The prosecutor's office is expected to file formal charges once a positive identification of the remains is made. The state medical examiner's office is working toward that end, officials said.

Pruitt said the discovery and arrest should "help bring closure" to the victim's family.
