This Warning Call To A Suspected Drug Dealer Was Way Too Late

So much for an early warning.

When someone called a suspected Detroit drug dealer's phone Tuesday to warn of a massive raid, it turned out he was already too late. Little did he know he was speaking to Detroit Police Assistant Chief Eric Jones, who gleefully put the call on speakerphone.

The Detroit Free Press shared the video, along with a report on Operation Mistletoe, an organized raid on the city's west side in an area known for drug-related crimes. Home to 27 shooting victims in the past year, police received dozens of narcotics complaints from the area, according to the Detroit News.

Though the crime is no laughing matter, cops seized the warning call as a moment of entertainment. Listen to the way they answered:
