Will Ferrell On The Sequel He Will Never Make

The Sequel Will Ferrell Will Never Make

It took nine years, but Will Ferrell finally made a sequel to "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy." But that doesn't mean he's up for making sequels to all of his films. On "Watch What Happens: Live," Ferrell said that he's "absolutely not" going to make an "Elf 2."

"I just think it will look slightly pathetic if I tried to squeeze back into the ‘Elf’ tights," Ferrell explained. "Buddy The Middle-Aged Elf." But after saying it like that, Ferrell took a moment to consider it. All the while, Andy Cohen was insisting that there is demand for a return to the now-classic 2003 holiday film.

If the one movie isn't enough for you, there is the "Elf" musical, though Ferrell says he had nothing to do with it and hasn't seen it. For now, he's focusing on the "Anchorman" sequel. Still, if he can revive a 9-year old property to make a hit sequel, why not reach back one more year and revive Buddy Hobbs. Despite what Ferrell thinks, we're pretty confident that "Elf 2" would be a massive hit.

Will Ferrell can be seen in "Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues," in theaters now. "Watch What Happens: Live" airs Sunday through Thursday at 11 p.m. EST on Bravo.
