Selena Gomez Cancels Tour Of Asia, Australia To 'Spend Some Time On Myself'

Selena Gomez Cancels Tour

Selena Gomez canceled dates in Asia and Australian for her Stars Dance tour because she needs some personal time.

Billboard announced that Gomez axed 13 shows from her tour, which was scheduled for early 2014. She was slated to head to Tokyo on Jan. 16 and wrap up in Melbourne on Feb. 8.

“My fans are so important to me and I would never want to disappoint them,” she said in a statement released by Live Nation to the media. “But it has become clear to me and those close to me that after many years of putting my work first, I need to spend some time on myself in order to be the best person I can be. To my fans, I sincerely apologize and I hope you guys know how much each and every one of you mean to me.”

The excuse is not one heard often during a world tour, but a source insisted to E! News the 21-year-old isn't having a breakdown. She has just been working "nonstop" and "hit a wall."

"She doesn't like to say no, but she just reached a point where she needs a minute," a source told E! "She is not having a breakdown. She wants to be the healthiest that she can be and this means taking a little break. But she is fine. She is OK."

"She's been on the road for six months and she's just ready to be normal and at home with her family," another source told People magazine of Gomez's state. "She's been working nonstop since she was 15 and wants to take a minute to herself."

Refunds will reportedly be offered to ticket buyers, according to The Hot Hits. Live Nation was not immediately available for further comment.

Earlier this month, Gomez cursed and stormed off the stage while performing at Jingle Ball in Los Angeles after her audio malfunctioned. A witness in the crowd said it "looked like" she was lip-synching.
