Fortune is supposed to favor the bold. But Fortune, apparently, does not favor bold Georgia Tech punters.
Georgia Tech punter Sean Poole attempted to catch Ole Miss by surprise during the Music City Bowl but only succeeded in stumbling his way into an improbable turnover on downs. On the field for a fourth-and-11 play at midfield during the second quarter on Monday, Poole attempted a fake punt. He received the snap and then took off running rather than kick the ball to Rebels. The senior specialist took several strides before losing his footing and going down untouched without even reaching the original line of scrimmage.
Ole Miss would go on to defeat Georgia Tech in the Music City Bowl 25-17.
