Chloe and Halle Bailey Cover Beyonce's 'Pretty Hurts,' Melt Our Hearts

When hot cocoa, ear muffs and a dozen layers fall short, sometimes it takes two young girls covering a Beyonce ballad to warm the soul.

Chloe and Halle Bailey, sisters with a hugely successful YouTube channel, took on "Pretty Hurts," one of the most somber tracks from Beyonce's latest album, with a grace and depth that belies their age -- and basically reduced us to babies.

"Pretty Hurts" is a kind of anti-anthem, in which Beyonce acknowledges the near-dangerous beauty standards placed on women, confronts them, and ultimately leaves them in her wake.

Mrs. Knowles-Carter shouted out to the duo on her Facebook page, writing "So amazingly talented!"

There is something heartening about two young women choosing to cover such an emotionally mature song. While the young singers delightfully croon "Perfection is the disease of a nation," we're reminded what a service Beyonce, and other strong female role models, do us when they send the message to women that "You can't fix what you can't see/ It's the soul that needs the surgery." When Chloe sings "This time I'm gonna take the crown/ Without falling down, down, down," we dare you not to feel very, very deeply.
