George H.W. And Barbara Bush Celebrate Their 69th Wedding Anniversary

The Longest Married Presidential Couple Ever

Congratulations to former President George H.W. Bush and his wife Barbara! The couple celebrated an incredible milestone yesterday-- their 69th wedding anniversary!

The pair exchanged vows back in 1945 when "41" returned home after serving as a pilot in WWII, after first meeting Barbara Pierce during a Christmas dance in 1941.

Their grandson, Pierce Bush, tweeted this photo of the happy and handsome couple on their wedding day. We're guessing Barbara had no idea she was marrying a future president!

George and Barbara are the longest-married presidential couple in history, a record they broke in 2000. Rosalynn and Jimmy Carter aren't far behind as they look forward to celebrating their 68th anniversary later this year.

"They’re just so clearly still in love and devoted to one another. They’re two people, but they’re really one person," spokesman Jim McGrath told FoxNews of the Bushes.

Here's wishing the Bushes many more years of good health and marriage.
