'Intelligence' Premiere: Josh Holloway Stars In New CBS Show

'Intelligence' Premieres On CBS With Former 'Lost' Star

With all that technology, as well as the charm of lead Josh Holloway, CBS's new crime procedural "Intelligence" still manages to feel like more of the same. The "Lost" star portrays Gabriel Vaughn, an intelligence agent who's been implanted with technology that allows him to access all of the information out there almost instantaneously.

In fact, from that data he can recreate 3-D images of key moments in crimes that only he can see and walk through. All of this helps him solve cases, but he's also using it to investigate what happened to his wife. The Hollywood Reporter's Tim Goodman thought it felt a bit too much like fellow CBS drama "Person of Interest," only Gabriel has "The Machine" inside of him.

Over at Variety, though, Brian Lowry thinks it could work. “‘Intelligence’ bills its technically enhanced hero as ‘the next evolution of intelligence,’ but the series itself feels like a throwback," he wrote. "This feels like a show developed when computers were the size of a refrigerator, but it’s also the sort that, if maintained properly, could run a long time on CBS.”

"Intelligence" continues on CBS every Tuesday night at 9 p.m. EST.
