Cate Blanchett Wins Best Actress - Drama At 2014 Golden Globe Awards

She Won!

Cate Blanchett took home the award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture - Drama for her role in "Blue Jasmine" at the 71st annual Golden Globe Awards.

Blanchett has two previous Golden Globes, for playing Queen Elizabeth I in 1998's "Elizabeth" and Bob Dylan in 2007's "I'm Not There." She has an additional five nominations, for "Bandits," "Veronica Guerin," "The Aviator," "Notes on a Scandal" and "Elizabeth: The Golden Age."

Blanchett topped Sandra Bullock ("Gravity"), Judi Dench ("Philomena"), Emma Thompson ("Saving Mr. Banks") and Kate Winslet ("Labor Day") for the award.

Recent winners for Best Actress in a Motion Picture - Drama include Jessica Chastain ("Zero Dark Thirty"), Meryl Streep ("The Iron Lady"), Natalie Portman ("Black Swan") and Sandra Bullock ("The Blind Side"). Over the past 10 years, six winners have gone on to nab the Best Actress Oscar as well.

Blanchett has remained a heavy favorite for Best Actress throughout Oscar season. The Academy Award nominations will be announced Jan. 16.
