Patrick Kane Scores Own Goal On Empty Net (VIDEO)

Blackhawks star Patrick Kane turned his team's power play into a disaster in the second period against the Oilers on Sunday.

Chicago was already on a power play trying to add to its 2-1 lead when a delayed penalty was called on the Oilers. After Chicago sent its goalie to the bench, Kane got the puck below the goal line in Edmonton's zone and sent it back toward the blue line. But none of his teammates were there to retrieve the puck and it slid all the way into Chicago's empty net. The own goal tied the game at two.

Fortunately for the Blackhawks, The 2013 Conn Smythe winner quickly made up for the own goal with an assist on Marian Hossa's go-ahead goal 31 seconds later.

"At one point I thought it was stopping and Arcobello was just going to touch it and the play would be over, and it picked up speed and just kept going," Kane said after Chicago's 5-3 win, per NHL.com. "We've seen some fluky plays like that. It's one of those things that happens, and when you score right after, it takes it off your mind."
