'Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.': Superhero On The Team? The Secret Origin Of Skye

'S.H.I.E.L.D.': The Secret Origin Of Skye!

"Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." is set in a superhero universe, and yet there's been a serious lack of superheroes on the show. Could it be that there's been one right there all along? When Agents Coulson and May finally uncovered more about Skye's mysterious past, they uncovered something potentially game-changing.

When she was a baby, Skye was classified by S.H.I.E.L.D. as an 0-8-4 -- indicating that she may have superhuman abilities. "She had powers or something," the agent who brought her in told them. "We never witnessed it." So Skye manifested genuine abilities as a baby, but nothing since? Certainly makes the fact that she's found her way back to S.H.I.E.L.D. suspicious.

According to Coulson, Skye says her mystery is now solved. Her entire family was killed, and S.H.I.E.L.D. has been watching over her ever since. But Zap2It's Terri Schwartz isn't satisfied. In fact, she has plenty of questions like, "Does she really have powers? Where is she from? Is she an alien, or just some unlucky kid? Who was killing the agents? And is this somehow connected to the Clairvoyant?” Answers leading to more questions. That's one way to sustain a show!

"Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
