NFL May Be Open To Medical Marijuana Use

The NFL may be open to players using medical marijuana, NBC Sports reported.

At an event last week, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell was asked if the league would ever allow athletes to use treat injuries with medicinal marijuana in places where it's legal.

“I don’t know what’s going to develop as far as the next opportunity for medicine to evolve and to help either deal with pain or help deal with injuries,” Goodell said, according to NBC Sports. “But we will continue to support the evolution of medicine.”

Goodell also hinted that this could be the last Super Bowl in a cold weather location. For more on his appearance, check out ESPN.

His comments are attracting attention just as Cleveland Browns wide receiver Davone Bess is taking heat for tweeting a photo of what appeared to be marijuana. The photo has since been removed but the team has said it will investigate the allegations.
