Oscar Nominations List 2014: 'Gravity,' 'American Hustle,' '12 Years A Slave' Among Honorees

"12 Years a Slave" racked up Oscar nominations. | ASSOCIATED PRESS

"American Hustle," "Gravity" and "12 Years a Slave" are the top nominees at 86th annual Academy Awards. "Rush" star Chris Hemsworth and Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences president Cheryl Boone Isaacs announced the nominations Thursday morning (Jan. 16) in Los Angeles.

Snubs include Emma Thompson (Best Actress -- "Saving Mr. Banks"), Tom Hanks (Best Actor -- "Captain Phillips"), Robert Redford (Best Actor -- "All Is Lost"), Oprah Winfrey (Best Supporting Actress -- "Lee Daniels' The Butler"), and "Inside Llewyn Davis" for Best Picture and Best Original Screenplay (Joel & Ethan Coen). The awards will be handed out March 2 during a telecast hosted by Ellen DeGeneres.
