Oscars Best Animated Feature Film Nominees 2014

Actor Chris Hemsworth and Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences President Cheryl Boone Isaacs announced the nominees for the upcoming 86th annual Academy Awards on Thursday (Jan. 16) and some of the year's most beloved features are up for Best Animated Film.

The nominees for Best Animated Film are "Frozen," "The Croods," "Despicable Me 2," "Ernest & Celestine," and "The Wind Rises." "Frozen" was also honored at Sunday's Golden Globe awards in this category, beating out "The Croods" and "Despicable Me 2" to win Best Animated Feature Film.

At last years 85th annual Academy Awards, "Brave" took home the statue for Best Animated Feature, beating "Frankenweenie," "ParaNorman," "The Pirates! Band of Misfits" and "Wreck-It Ralph."

First awarded in 2001, Best Animated Feature is a young Oscars category. Other past winners include "Shrek," "Finding Nemo," "Happy Feet" and "Up."

The 2014 Oscars will air from Hollywood's Dolby Theatre on March 2 on ABC. Ellen DeGeneres will host the awards show for the second time.
