Well, at least one "Murder, She Wrote" fan is relieved that the reboot was canceled: Jessica Fletcher herself, Angela Lansbury.

BBC News spoke with Lansbury after NBC announced they would no longer be "going forward" with a reboot starring Octavia Spencer. Lansbury said she was "terribly pleased and relieved. I knew it was a terrible mistake." She continued, "I didn't want to sully the memory."

Of course, being the embodiment of classy, Lansbury added that the blame was not to be put on Spencer. "Octavia Spencer is a superb actress," Lansbury said. "She had no business being put into a situation that she couldn't win."

We, along with Lansbury, can now breathe a sigh of relief that the "Murder, She Wrote" legacy will not be tarnished.
