Judith Rodin: Unemployment Makes Our Youth 'Less Resilient'

During an interview with HuffPost Live at Davos on Thursday, Judith Rodin, President of the Rockefeller Foundation, warned of the devastating long-term impact of youth unemployment.

"When young people remain unemployed, it makes them less resilient for the rest of their lives... so the impact of that is profound," Rodin said.

Rodin was elaborating on a recent piece she authored for the Huffington Post on "realizing the resilience dividend." (Read Rodin's blog post here.)

Rodin also said it's "absolutely worth focusing" on bringing more women to Davos and putting more women in leadership roles in business.

"I do think increasing focus on younger women in the pipeline... I've been amazingly impressed by the young women that are part of the Global Shapers Network," Rodin said.

"We need to keep making sure that the pipeline is full," Rodin said.
