Is Los Feliz the Williamsburg of LA?
Believe it or not, this isn't one of those insular, annoying coastal quandaries. Because New York City and Los Angeles are such big tourist destinations, chances are that people from all over the country have been to at least one of these metros. And it means if you've ever spent some time in LA, you already have a good reference point for neighborhoods in New York, and vice versa.
That's the premise, at least, of a new episode from the web series "Big City." It breaks down the most popular places in LA and New York by comparing West Coast neighborhoods to their East Coast counterparts.
For instance, Times Square in New York is like Hollywood and Highland in LA, according to the video. The Hamptons is like Laguna Beach. And Central Park is similar to Griffith Park, except in Griffith Park you could get eaten by a mountain lion.
Consider yourself warned.
