When it comes to planning meals as a diabetic,Sherri Shepherd, Emmy Award-Winning Cohost of The View, had some everyday tips to share with us.
Sherri’s doctor told her that it is incredibly important to read labels, being mindful of things like carbs and sugar content.
“When it comes to alcohol, be very careful about sugar,” she told us. Even beverages like wine convert into sugar once absorbed by the body. “Stay away from super sweet drinks, like amaretto sours or piña coladas,” Sherri said, as these just turn to glucose, similar to other “white” products like pasta and bread.
