Sherri Shepherd, Emmy Award-Winning Cohost of The View, had some great advice to share with us when it came to learning from mistakes made during her first marriage.
“Never hire a really cute assistant! That will get you in trouble!” she joked. On a more serious note, Sherri admitted that she was much too career-oriented in her first marriage. “I lived, ate and breathed my career,” she reflected.
She’s learned that you have to make time for your loved ones, especially your husband. “Men have really fragile egos,” she said. “Women tend to handle a lot more.” Sherri stressed the importance of communicating with your partner, letting him or her know they are important and special.
“When I get home and am tired, instead of taking my wig or lashes off, I keep everything on so that my husband doesn’t feel like he gets the leftovers,” she said. “I also got rid of all my flannel,” she laughed. “I’m freezing in the winter time now!”
