SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce leaders said Saturday night they want to start the process to add the name of former Mayor Henry Cisneros to the San Antonio International Airport.

“We want to launch this idea,” said chamber CEO and President Ramiro Cavazos. “We think it is time to consider Henry Cisneros as the best individual who has done more for economic development. ... We want to start a process that involves the public. We'll set up a committee.”

“We need to grab the opportunity before anyone else does,” added Patricia Pliego Stout, the chamber's 2014 chairwoman, citing other airports that have names, such as the George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston.
