You may know Zoey Deutch best for her role as Juliet Martin on "Ringer" or Maya Bennett on The Disney Channel's "The Suite Life on Deck," but I have a feeling we'll be seeing a lot more of this rising star's face around Hollywood as she makes the jump to the big screen.
Playing Rose Hathaway in the upcoming "Vampire Academy," the actress showed off her silly side when she stopped by HuffPost Live this week with co-star Lucy Fry. The comedy is about a hidden vampire boarding school, and the director is Mark Waters -- who was also at the helm of the cult classic "Mean Girls."
"I was very nervous to meet him [Waters] because I'm such a fan. I was like, 'I love 'Mean Girls,'" said Deutch. "Working with Mark was amazing... He has an innate ability to understand comedic timing. He's so good at that." Watch in the video above.
Growing up with parents in the industry (Deutch's mother is actress Lea Thompson and her father is director Howard Deutch), it seems natural that the 19-year-old was inspired by her family to break into the business. But the young actress insists she had different reasons.
"I just wanted to do it because I'm an emotional wreck," joked Deutch. "And it's really helpful for me to channel some sort of energy."
"Vampire Academy" hits theaters on February 7.
CORRECTION: A previous version of this article misidentified the film's release date as Feb. 14, which was originally scheduled for the film's release. The date was moved up a week in mid-January.
