Richard Sherman Asked Bizarre Question About Strippers At Media Day

Richard Sherman was, perhaps predictably, involved in the most ridiculous moment of Super Bowl XLVIII Media Day. In this case, it wasn't something that he said that generated attention. Rather, it was something he was asked.

With dozens of reporters crowded around him on Tuesday at the Prudential Center in Newark, the Seattle Seahawks' talkative cornerback was asked a bizarre -- and somewhat accusatory -- question about NFL players and strippers.

"As far as money is concerned, all you football guys going into the strip clubs and throwing, raining down on these strippers," someone in the crowd began, before eventually getting to a question. "I think that’s a bad example for our young ladies. How could we stop that? Because I think that’s a bad example that we are setting for our young girls that they need to be strippers. How do we deal with that issue?"

"I’ve never gone into a strip club and thrown money, so I couldn’t tell you," Sherman responded.

After deflecting the odd query like an inaccurate pass, Sherman then went on to give as thoughtful and uplifting a response was seemingly possible.

"But I guess trying to understand that there are other avenues, there are other ways you can make money, that women can do anything they want in this world," Sherman said. "You can go out there and be CEO of a company, you can go out there -- and like I said before, the same can be said for kids in the inner city -- that the ceiling is limitless. Don’t limit yourself to those possibility and those circumstances."
