MSNBC Apologizes For 'Offensive' Tweet About Conservatives And Cheerios

MSNBC was forced to backtrack on Wednesday night after what it said was an "offensive" tweet about conservatives sent from its account.

The tweet alluded to the racist backlash to a 2013 Cheerios ad that featured an interracial family. Cheerios has released a similar ad, and MSNBC sent this tweet in response:

“Maybe the rightwing will hate it, but everyone else will go awww: the adorable new #Cheerios ad w/ biracial family.”

Predictably, a fair amount of outrage followed, and MSNBC apologized:
