The Average Cost Of Training An Olympic Figure Skater, From Scott Hamilton (VIDEO)

Olympic Gold Medalist Scott Hamilton had some fascinating information to share with us about the cost of training an Olympic figure skater today.

“For a high level skater, I’ve heard everything from $25,000-80,000 a year!” Scott said, citing the cost of sponsors, choreographers and costume designers now required for training. “It can get out of control!” he said.

“When I competed for my first time at the Olympic level with a sponsor, it was $8,000!” Scott reflected.
