'Psych' To End After Season 8

Posted: Updated:

Get ready to say goodbye to the pineapple. USA has announced that the eighth season of "Psych" will be its last.

After a successful run, with everything from a musical episode to sold out Comic Con appearances, the beloved duo of Shawn (James Roday) and Gus (Dule Hill) are about to walk into the sunset.

"'Psych' is one of those rare projects that broke into the cultural mainstream," said Jeff Wachtel, President and Chief Content Officer for NBCU. "Its wild energy, fearless fun and engaging characters delivered an unrivaled series that will continue to be loved by fans for as long as there are ways to watch TV."

"Psych" will return on Feb. 26 for the final five episodes before the season finale on March 26. Following the finale will be a special "Psych After Show," featuring a Q&A with the cast and creator in front of a live studio audience.

Watch a special message from Roday and Hill above as they try to fight their feelings.

Make sure to have a box of tissues handy, "Psych"-Os!

"Psych" airs Wed. at 9 p.m. EST on USA.
