Marcus Smart Shoves Fan: Oklahoma State Star Gets Into Altercation In Loss To Texas Tech (VIDEO) [UPDATED]

WATCH: Marcus Smart Shoves Fan

Oklahoma State's 65-61 loss to Texas Tech proved too much for Marcus Smart. In the final seconds of the NCAA college basketball game on Saturday night in Lubbock, Texas, the Cowboys' star guard took out his disappointment on a fan by shoving him, ESPN reported.

According to The Dallas Morning News, the incident occurred just after Smart fouled Red Raiders’ forward Jaye Crockett's on a dunk attempt. The frustrated sophomore fell into the front row of the crowd, and a man quickly helped Smart to his feet.

When another fan said something to Smart, he reportedly attacked, shoving the older man with both hands. Although the fan remained upright, he did stumble backwards.

Before a full-on fight could break out, Smart's teammates pulled him away, Sports Illustrated reported. He was called for a technical foul but not ejected.

The fan was later identified as Jeff Orr, who is known for traveling thousands of miles each year to attend Texas Tech games, athletic department spokesman Blayne Beal said.

UPDATE: Citing a member of the Oklahoma State basketball program, ESPN reported that Smart claimed to his coaches that Orr used a racial slur.

Texas Tech athletic department spokesman Blayne Beal told ESPN that he isn't sure if the school will issue a statement and "we have never had an issue with [Orr] crossing the line in the past."
