Actor Steve Martin wants to make sure everyone knows he's not the same Steve Martin who described pregnant woman as "hosts."

The comedian took to Twitter Tuesday to make the clarification:

FYI, I am not THAT Steve Martin. http://t.co/qKxr5nO8ch

The other Martin, a Republican state senator from Virginia, made the questionable remark in a Facebook post last week.

"I don't expect to be in the room or will I do anything to prevent you from obtaining a contraceptive," Martin wrote. "However, once a child does exist in your womb, I'm not going to assume a right to kill it just because the child's host (some refer to them as mothers) doesn't want it."

He later amended his post to describe the woman as "bearer of the child" instead of "host."
