Mika Brzezinski Throws Junk Food, Soda Into The Garbage: It's 'Poison'

Mika Brzezinski was on the warpath against soda and junk food on Thursday's "Morning Joe."

The "Morning Joe" co-host was discussing First Lady Michelle Obama's plans to propose changes to food labels. Brzezinski — who has opened up about her struggles with disordered eating and railed against junk food before — was all in favor of the changes.

She showed viewers exactly what she thought of junk food and soda on Thursday, by tossing it out in the garbage.

The bag of Cheetos went first.

Next was the bottle of Mountain Dew.

The bag of Ruffles was gone, too.

"I call this 'food' carefully, because it's not food," she said, holding up a bag of Doritos. Wielding bottles of Mountain Dew and Coca-Cola, she continued, "Sorry, advertisers, this is -- can I say garbage? Maybe poison."

She said the Doritos on the table were her "DTs" as in "don't touch these." "They're poison, too," Brzezinski added.
