How To Design Your Own Personal TV Schedule With Hulu

In the binge-watching era of Netflix and Amazon Prime, it's easy to forget about Hulu, and it's episode-by-episode schedule, many of which are available for free. With Hulu Plus, though, you get access to even more shows, which could free you up to truly take control of your television viewing experience.

If you're in charge, why not make a schedule that fits your busy lifestyle? Just because some suit at ABC thinks you should watch "Scandal" on Thursdays at 10 p.m. EST doesn't mean that necessarily works for you.

We've come up with a guide to help you figure out which shows are best for each night of the week.

Sundays

Unfortunately, it's time to get back in that work mindset, because the weekend is over. You'll want something serious, but not too complicated, to start gearing you back up toward productivity. Crime procedurals make great back-to-work programming.
(Recommendations: 'Shark Tank,' 'The Blacklist,' 'Chicago Fire,' 'Mind Games,' 'Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,' ''Beauty and the Beast,' 'Rake')

Mondays

Now that you're back to the grind, you've got to stay focused to get through the rest of the week. This is the time to get that adrenaline pumping with action and thriller shows.
(Recommendations: 'Arrow,' 'Almost Human,' 'Supernatural,' 'The Vampire Diaries,' 'The Originals,' 'Revolution,' 'Vikings,' 'Reign,' The Tomorrow People'')

Tuesdays

You are in the thick of it now, your mind sharp and focused. This is the perfect time to tackle more challenging shows with complex characters, rich backgrounds, and dense narratives.
(Recommendations: 'Hannibal,' 'Bates Motel,' 'Parenthood,' 'Scandal,' 'The Following,' 'Helix,' 'Those Who Kill')

Wednesdays

It's hump day, and you can't help it. You're thinking about the weekend. That makes it the perfect time to tackle less mentally intense fare.
(Recommendations: 'Castle,' 'Nashville,' 'Glee,' 'Once Upon a Time,' 'Project Runway: Under the Gunn,' 'Kitchen Nightmares,' 'Star-Crossed')

Thursdays

You made it through another week ... almost. Tomorrow is Friday, and that's got to make you feel happy. Embrace that joy and spend the night laughing in front of your favorite sitcoms.
(Recommendations: 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine,' 'New Girl,' 'Enlisted,' 'The Middle,' 'Suburgatory,' 'Modern Family,' 'Mixology,' 'Community,' 'Parks & Recreation,' 'Raising Hope,')

Fridays

You did it, and now it's time to shut it off ... in this case, we mean you're exhausted brain! This is the night to let mindless reality shows and cartoons wash over you.
(Recommendations: 'Bad Girls All-Star Battle,' 'Kim of Queens,' 'The Bachelor,' 'Best Ink,' 'Wahlburgers,' 'Deadly Wives,' 'Golan the Insatiable,' 'Lucas Bros. Moving Co.'

Saturdays

Time to cut loose and have fun. Your television viewing should match your care-free attitude, so seek out shows that offer an inconsequential and breezy viewing experience.
(Recommendations: 'Psych,' 'American Idol,' 'The Voice,' ' 'Hollywood Game Night,' 'Saturday Night Live,' 'The Neighbors,' 'Last Man Standing')
