Thanks to Jay Z, everybody (read: D-List stars) wants to rock Tom Ford. But the fashion designer may not be too keen about that idea. Ford stopped by "Jimmy Kimmel Live" on Wednesday night, where he discussed what it's really like to work with celebrities.
Ford, who has a reputation for dressing just one lucky lady on Oscars night unless you've got the hook-up like Hayden Panettiere, doesn't really love the process. He explained to Kimmel:
They have a preconceived notion of what they want to wear, what they want to look like, how they are marketing this film, and you're kind of really making something for them that isn't particularly creative. What's worn on the red carpet has nothing to do with what's going on in contemporary fashion. It's really a kind of bubble of 1950s Barbie clothes.
Welp. We think Ford's candid description of today's red carpet style isn't too far from the truth. Do you agree?
