The Makers Of 'Airplane!' Really Want You To Visit Wisconsin

Posted: Updated:

It takes some comedic chops to spoof your own spoof, so who better than the makers of "Airplane!" to go there?

Brought to you by Badger State natives Jim Abrahams and David and Jerry Zucker, who collaborated on the 1980 disaster parody, an ad for Travel Wisconsin reunites Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Robert Hays in the cockpit.

The ad weaves in a few familiar jokes en route to touting the Midwestern state's appeal in summer -- "boating, fishing, biking!" -- and it couldn't get any better.

Last year, a Zucker tourism commercial featured Hays in a series of pratfalls, but the spot didn't directly reference "Airplane!" Now the circle of life is complete.
