Whoopi Goldberg has a well-known fear of flying, and she had quite a bit to share with us about trying to overcome her fear.
When Whoopi agreed to appear at a London theater performance of “Sister Act,” she knew she’d have to face her fears and fly overseas. With the help of anesthesia and a program designed by British Virgin Airlines to help people overcome their fear of flying, Whoopi was able to make the trip overseas and appear in London.
“Virgin really helped,” Whoopi told us. “All the reasons I gave for not wanting to fly were not justified.”
However, the next couple of times Whoopi flew, she was confronted with aggressive passengers, pilots and stewardesses, and she felt it was too many new, stressful elements to navigate. Though she’ll fly today if she absolutely must, Whoopi prefers her signature rock bus for travel.
