Katie Holmes' New ABC Pilot Marks Her Return To TV

Katie Holmes Returns To TV

Joey Potter's coming back to your small screen. Katie Holmes, who hasn't starred in a TV series since her days on "Dawson's Creek," has been cast in an untitled ABC pilot about New York socialites.

TV Guide reports that Holmes will play Ann, a smart and well-bred philanthropist, whose life turns to ruins when a bet destroys her marriage. Holmes will star opposite Rufus Sewell, who plays Philip, the mastermind behind said bet. Philip is in cahoots with Margot Worth Cole (uncast) and they both aim to destroy Ann's marriage. Reports say viewers can expect a whole lot of revenge and seduction.

"Behind The Candelabra" and "Beautiful Creatures" writer Richard LaGravenese will pen the pilot and the show is already being compared to "Dangerous Liaisons."

Even though Holmes hasn't starred in a show since her days in Capeside, she's made appearances in "How I Met Your Mother," "The Kennedys" and "Eli Stone."

Will you tune in to watch Holmes as an Upper East Side socialite?
